Mars enters Ashlesha nakshatra on 17 October 2026: what it means for every birth star

Mars leaves Pushya and enters Ashlesha nakshatra (in Cancer) on 17 October 2026 at 12:46 IST (New Delhi).

Ashlesha nakshatra

Lord: Mercury. Deity: The Nagas, the serpents. Symbol: a coiled serpent. Nature: sharp (tikshna); gana: rakshasa (fierce).

Mars governs energy, courage, land and property, brothers, police and the army; for the next weeks these take on the colour of Ashlesha and of its lord Mercury.

What it means for each birth star (tara)

Read from your birth nakshatra (janma nakshatra), counting to the star the planet now enters:

• Ashlesha, Jyeshtha, Revati — Janma (your own star): courage and property weigh on mind and body — keep a steady routine and avoid hasty decisions.
• Pushya, Anuradha, Uttara Bhadrapada — Sampat (wealth): gains and support through courage and property.
• Punarvasu, Vishakha, Purva Bhadrapada — Vipat (danger): obstacles and losses through courage and property — check before you commit.
• Ardra, Swati, Shatabhisha — Kshema (well-being): comfort and ease in courage and property.
• Mrigashira, Chitra, Dhanishta — Pratyak (opposition): others may stand in your way in courage and property — avoid quarrels.
• Rohini, Hasta, Shravana — Sadhana (achievement): effort in courage and property succeeds — a good time to complete work.
• Krittika, Uttara Phalguni, Uttara Ashadha — Naidhana (the hardest): take extra care of health and avoid risks in courage and property.
• Bharani, Purva Phalguni, Purva Ashadha — Mitra (friend): friends and well-wishers help in courage and property.
• Ashwini, Magha, Mula — Param Mitra (great friend): strong support and good news in courage and property.

A nakshatra transit is a finer layer on the sign transit and on your own chart's dasha; it colours the weeks rather than decides them.
